Mulshi Lake is one of the most popular tourist attractions near Pune just under an hours drive away from the city. The Lake is formed in the catchments area of Mulshi dam. The lake with scenic surrounding and unexploited Sahyadri hilly terrains is a perfect spot for a weekend picnic. Mulshi is about 35 Kms from Pune and to reach Mulshi from Pune one has to take the road leading to Pirangut from Chandni Chowk near Baner on the Pune bypass road.

With sixty kilometers of lakefront and spread over seven magnificent hills, Lavasa has the disctinction of being the largest urban infrastructure project in India.
Kolad..
Kolad - a small village by the Kundalika river is fast emerging as the adventure sports capital of this region. 70 kms from Mulshi, Kolad is famous for the river rafting that happens in the Kundalika river thanks to the water released by the dams for irrigation converting the otherwise tranquil river into one with rapids of grade IV! Kolad is also popular for the numerous waterfalls and trekking options.
Tamhini ghats enroute the road ahead of Mulshi Lake that joins NH17 at Mangaon is albeit the bad roads a riders pleasure. With many seasonal water falls dotting the entire length after monsoons these ghats offer some of the most amazing views of the valleys in this region. Its prudent to avoid the Tamhini route after sunset as for long distances you might not find even a shop in these ghat routes.
Camping in Mulshi..
