Kas Plateau or Kas Pathar as it is known locally is located in Satara on a less frequented route connecting Satara to Mahabaleshwar via the Tapola link road. The link road connects Kas Plateau to few of the most popular weekend destination in Maharashtra enabling the tourist to couple the two sets of destinations! On the way to Kas you can also stop at Thoseghar waterfalls or the famous Sajjangad fort a landmark in Satara city.
Sajjangad fort in Satara is more of a pilgrim destination rather than a weekend destination thanks to Swami Ramdas samadhi which is located in the fort.
Chalkewadi about 25 kms from Satara is famous for the hundreds of windmills located on the hill top plateau. During the flowering season in Kas Chalkewadi also gets covered in flowers.
