Dapoli
Dapoli is one of the most untouched and unspoiled beaches near Pune on the konkan stretch and are amongst the cleanest ones on the entire west cost of India. Nature lovers can indulge themselves in exploring the hiking trails in the nearby jungles. One can also visit the ancient temples, forts,and hot springs nearby. A natural hot springs is located in Unhavare Village, 20Km from Dapoli and the Temples of Keshavraj and Vyaghreshwar located at Asud near Dapoli are also magnificent sightseeing options. The best route from Pune to Dapoli is via Mahabaleshwar - Khed; check the road map to Dapoli from Pune.
Dapoli Beach & Hillstation
Though overshadowed by the beautiful beaches of Lagdhar, Karde, Harnai, Kelshi and Anjarle, Dapoli is also a hillstation and is called the mini Mahabaleshwar and Mahabaleshwar of Konkan by few. The hills of Dapoli has a pleasent climate throughout the year and a trip to Dapoli can offer an unique experiance of staying at a hill station and still being close to the sea.
Panhalekaji
A series of 29 ancient, rock cut caves believed to be more than a thousand years old are a treat to architecture lovers. Hindu and Buddhist sculptures cover the walls. These caves are located on the banks of the “Kotjai” river.
Unhavare
Situated amidst a picturesque valley, Unhavare is a natural hot spring. The water has medicinal value as beleived by the localites.
The temples of Shree Keshavraj and Shree Vyagreshwar
The famous ancient temples of Shree Keshavraj (Vishnu) and Shree Vyagreshwar (Siva) are located at Aasud, at a distance of just 8 km from Dapoli on the Dapoli - Harnai road. A natural spring that originates at the hill top flows down to the front of the temple supplying water to the stone carved cow mouth (Gomukh) throughout the year. The surroundings of these temples are calm and tranquil and is worth a visit.
