Harihareshwar is located at one end of the three Raigad beaches - Harihareshwar Shrivardhan and Diveagar. Diveagar is famous for the 'Suvarna Ganesh' temple and has a wavy beach. Dighi further ahead of Diveagar, about 45 Kms from Harihareshwar is where you can get boats to visit the famous Murud Janjira. Shrivardhan beach about 20 kms from Harihareshwar is a small cove with a very calm sea and unlike Diveagar has a flat beach.
If you are planning a long vacation in Konkan beaches you can continue your trip from Harihareshwar to Dapoli,Ratnagiri. The ferry across the savitri river will get you to Bankot in less than 15 minutes from where the long stretch of Dapoli beaches start. If you are planning a days trip for sight seeing around Harihareshwar you can visit Anjarle and the famous Kadyavarcha Ganpati temple in Anjarle
Bankot - Himmatgad Fort
A very beautiful fort dotting the coastline of the Konkan strip, the fort of Himmatgad, now popularly known as Bankot lies in the northern most end of Ratnagiri and can be reached from Bagmandala 5 kms from Harihareshwar by ferry across the Savitri river.

Murud Janjira
A trip to Murud - Janjira from an hour away from Harihareshwar is what can make your Harihareshwar trip truely unforgettable. A 20 minute ferry from Dighi will get you to this formidable sea fortress. There are a few majestic cannons, which have their own names, and remind you of the many ships they must have destroyed in wars. You could also visit the janjira caves from here.
Suvarna Ganesh - Diveagar
On 17th November 1997 while working in coconut and bettlenut garden Shrimati Draupadi Dharma Patil, found a copper trunk weighing about 30 Kgs. In that trunk she found a 24 carat gold Ganesha mask weighing 1 Kg 325 gms. The inscription on the trunk says 1060 AD.
Later this idol was deified and instated in a temple in the village.
